Concierge Mental Health Treatment Team

When you struggle with mental health issues, you struggle to feel understood and frequently wonder if you’ll ever live a “normal” life. We don’t see you as a diagnosis. We see your diagnosis as a series of obstacles which must be navigated and managed with the right team, skills, support, and sometimes medication. In addition to our own team members, we work with other professionals on your team to coordinate care and create the best possible, long-term outcomes.

Amanda Koplin

Founder of Koplin Consulting - Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC

I was obese as a child, and later in life, I developed an eating disorder. As I simultaneously attempted to regulate my weight, I was coping with depression and anxiety. I struggled intensely with what I needed to do to get healthy. The requests of my therapists and dietitian seemed easy in theory, but I couldn’t manage to implement their advice when I went home and was left with my own thoughts and no support. I knew my recovery didn’t have to be so hard and lonely.

So, as a therapist, and fellow companion on the journey to healing, I created Koplin Consulting out of an empathic understanding of the complex struggles facing people living with an eating disorder, addiction, and other mental health conditions on a daily basis. We offer in-home services led by experts in counseling, fitness, and nutrition. Our goal is to empower you with the skills it requires to make sustainable changes in real life.

Amanda Koplin, LPC is a mental health counselor who focuses on creating unique solutions intended on bridging the gaps in mental health care. Amanda attended the University of Oregon where she got her undergraduate degree in psychology and women and gender studies and also obtained a certificate from the substance abuse prevention program. She went on to graduate from Yeshiva University’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine where she received her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling.

Amanda began her career in the mental health field at the age of 13 where she volunteered at a battered women’s and children’s shelter. She continued gaining experience by volunteering anywhere she could and eventually started interning on acute psychiatric units, in eating disorder residential treatment centers, research labs, answering crisis lines, and running groups for parents and teens. Her first official job out of graduate school was providing in-home counseling for kids charged with felonies in supreme court in New York City.

After becoming fully licensed, Amanda started her first business, Sigma Mental Health Urgent Care, in San Antonio and sold it in 2016 to start Koplin Consulting. She recently authored a book, #MoreThanMyDisorder, and speaks to school nurses, counselors, and other professionals on a regular basis about signs and symptoms of eating disorders and provides them with ways to help the individual who is struggling. On top of running Koplin Consulting, she also runs a part time private practice where she works with adolescents, most of whom struggle with substance use and/ or eating disorders.
